Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at acereefmain@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We stand behind the quality of every coral we ship. If your coral arrives Dead on Arrival (DOA), we'll make it right with store credit or a replacement coral (when available).

To qualify for our Live Arrival Guarantee:

  • Inspect your order immediately upon delivery.
  • Submit your claim within 2 hours of the carrier's delivery scan.
  • Do not remove the coral from its original sealed shipping bag.
  • Provide clear photos of:
    • The unopened shipping box
    • The shipping label
    • The coral in the sealed bag

Claims submitted after the 2-hour window or without the required photos may not be eligible for coverage.

Our guarantee does not cover losses resulting from delayed pickup, improper acclimation, poor water quality, or corals removed from their original packaging before documentation.

If you have any questions, please contact us as soon as possible—we're committed to providing exceptional customer service and healthy, high-quality corals.

Proper acclimation gives your new coral the best chance to thrive after shipping. We recommend opening your package promptly, inspecting each coral before removing it from the shipping bag, and floating the sealed bag for 15–20 minutes to equalize temperature. After acclimation, place your coral in an area with moderate flow and lower to moderate lighting, then gradually move it to its permanent location over the following week if needed.

Many corals may appear stressed or remain closed after shipping. This is normal and can take several hours—or even a few days—to improve. Maintaining stable water parameters and avoiding unnecessary handling during the first few days will help ensure the best results.

Our recommended parameters are:

  • Temperature: 76–78°F (24.5–25.5°C)
  • Salinity: 1.025–1.026 SG (35 ppt)
  • Alkalinity: 8–9 dKH
  • Calcium: 400–440 ppm
  • Magnesium: 1,250–1,400 ppm
  • Nitrate: 2–15 ppm
  • Phosphate: 0.03–0.10 ppm
